I’ve read about two suicide cases in two days.

One was about #segun and the other one about the UNN student who had a first class.

A lot of people’s comments have been so cruel and all they call them is cowards, selfish, weak and so many other unprintable names.

These guys and many more who have committed or attempted suicide didn’t want to die. They love life like you and me but all they wanted to was to end the pain and dying looks like it’s what gives them the avenue to do that.

Pain can alter you forever.

Pain can make you unrecognizable to yourself.

What we also need to know is that everyone’s threshold for pain is different.

I have had two babies and I can tell you that the last pain nearly took me out until the gynecologist offered me an option for Caesarean or Epidural Injection.

Meanwhile, some people can handle labor pain well even for the next 48 hours without any form of relief.

Does that make me less of a woman? NO!! It just means I have a low threshold for pain and I cannot withstand what some other woman can physically.

It’s not my choice. It’s not because I am weak or lazy. It’s because it’s my make up. We are all made differently.

So, instead of calling these people names for killing themselves, it’s better for us to help them through their pain when they cry for it.

Not by quoting scriptures at them or calling them weak.

Not by rebuking them for wanting to kill themselves for a man or woman.

Not by telling them that they are stupid because they want to kill themselves because of a low JAMB score.

Their pain doesn’t really stem from that basic incident, it is their interpretation of the event.

The one who failed JAMB thinks “I am failure in life. I am never going to make it. I am doomed for suffering forever. Everyone seem to make it except me”. So, this interpretation or feeling of failure didn’t start in a day. It’s an accumulation of interpretation of series of events until they climax.
This is the story of relationship coach " Lara kudayisi"
My message today is EVERYONE HAS THE TENDENCY TO COMMIT SUICIDE WHEN YOU GET TO YOUR LIMIT. My recommendation is that you try all you can do not to get to your limit.

HOW??

1.) DON’T SUPPRESS YOUR PAIN: A lot of people suppress their pain because that’s what they have been taught.

The African who expresses emotions have been made to seem weak. Other people will tell you why you should thank God that it is not worse thereby invalidating your pain and how it hurts you.

Express your emotions at every time you can. Crying is not weakness. It is a very natural reaction that is very therapeutic.

2) PURSUE HEALING WITH ALL YOUR POWER: Don’t think that you are a superman and that heartbreak will not get you. It may not get you now but one day it will show up where you least expect it.

Anytime you go through pain, create time to heal from it. Get help from professionals to heal from it. Don’t overestimate your capacity of dealing with your pain.

3) DON’T NUMB YOUR PAIN: There would have been more suicide cases today but for sex, drugs, alcohol, church and so many other activities that people indulge in so that they can numb their pain.

The more you numb it, the more you postpone the evil day.

4) SURROUND YOURSELF WITH PEOPLE WHO GET YOU: Don’t continuously be around people that would constantly belittle other people’s issues because they think that their own is worse.

Don’t be around people that would put more pressure on your capacity because they are numbing their own or suppressing it.

Make sure you find your own people. People who don’t shut you down. People who accept you for who you are. People who don’t talk down at you or make you feel small. I can tell you this works like magic.

5) GET HELP: There is no shame in admitting that there is a problem. You are not the only going through what you are going through. You won’t be the only who will seek for help because you need it.

Growing up in Nigeria alone can be very dysfunctional and not a lot of people can handle it. Don’t let your environment stifle the life out of you.

Rosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-4061695930529197922019-07-01T12:45:00.000-07:002019-07-01T12:45:27.470-07:00STOP LIVING TO PROVE PEOPLE WRONG!!!
I am sure a lot of you are familiar with the story of Blessing CEO on Instagram who showed off someone else’s house as her own until the rightful owner came and prove her wrong.

A lot of people have had so many things to say about it and I want to look from it from another angle.

When she shared the message on her 30th birthday(according to her), she said her husband chased her out of their one bedroom apartment 8 years ago and today she has built a 7 Bedroom Duplex in replacement.

So for me, the key word is “chasing away” and what she has done in replacement.

In my opinion, she went to that length because SHE WANTED TO PROVE HER EX HUSBAND WRONG!!! This is what a lot of us are doing today.

Living to prove our parents, siblings, friends, exes, teachers, mentors and so many other people who have said terrible things about us wrong.

We want to show then that they were wrong by looking down on us and without their help we would become someone great in life. When you live to prove people wrong or show them, you will end up harming yourself on the long run.

When you live to show people or prove them wrong, you will stretch beyond your normal limit to do things. You will live on the edge, you will say YES to things that are dangerous for you just because you have a mission. You will never be happy because you will keep looking over your shoulder.

When people say stuff about you or even swear that you will never make it, thank them and proceed to live your own life without living for them.

This pure act is called AWAY FROM MOTIVATION in Neuro Linguistic Programming(NLP). It simply means you have a wrong motivation for doing things or living your life.

When you find yourself doing this, it means you are not over those people no matter how long it has been.

It means that you have given them the power to control your life even when you have nothing to do with them again.

It means your life is not your own or directed by you as it should be.

When someone swears over your life or make proclamations that you know that are hurtful to you, what you need to do is HEAL from that pain from the experience.

Healing frees you from rehashing what they have done and hurting continually from it.

Healing helps you detach from that experience so that it no longer taunts You or hunt you.

Healing helps you get Closure from that event so that it no longer controls you or your behaviour.

Healing helps you forgive them and move on completely from them or their words.

Healing helps you understand that nobody has a right to predict your future because they didn’t create you.

Healing frees you from bitterness from the pain or experience.

HEALING GIVES YOU FREEDOM!!

LEARN TO HEAL...... with ❤❤

If you know what Rape victims go through, you will NEVER defend rape.

If you know how they struggle with identity crisis for the rest of their adult years, you will stone rapists.

If you know how dirty and worthless they feel, you will fight that they castrate rapists..

RAPE is a significant emotional experience that changes the life of the victim forever.

Some of them are very angry with life. They react over excessively to things and you will be wondering why they are that edgy.

I know this because I see them everyday. I deal with them everyday. I see how torn and broken they are because I help them heal.

Some of them can’t give themselves wholly to their boyfriends or husbands because a part of them have been killed.

I know a girl who is 20 years and her dad raped her from when she was 9 years old. She is a shadow of herself. Some days she wants to die, other days, she is cutting herself.

I feel so pained since morning. I feel sad watching @busoladakolo interview. I read the comments on Instablog and half of the girls who commented confessed to being raped.. What a pity..
I come across a lot of people who when I have a discussion with, they tell me how they don’t need to go through Healing or Therapy because they can’t seem to remember being wounded and as such don’t need it.

The truth is a lot of us have been wounded unknowingly by our parents, siblings, friends, spouses, colleagues and society in general and we have no idea.

Most of us are living a life that have been handed to us by our parents, environment and significant emotional experiences and we don’t even know.

There are four stages of knowing that I have come to realize.

1) Those who don’t know that they don’t know that anything is wrong with them.

2) Those who know that something is wrong and have resigned to fate.

3) Those who know that something is wrong and they want a change but won’t do anything about it.

4) Those who know that there is a problem, they want a change and are ready to go through the process of making a change.

So, which one are you?

Are you living the kind of life that you want to?

Are you repeating the mistakes of your parents??

Are you living the life that you hate and have promised yourself that you wouldn’t live?

Are you stuck because of a certain emotional trauma that have happened to you in the past?

Have you been hurt so many times that you are now numb?

Do you just find yourself emotionally empty as you don’t have any feeling?

Are you constantly feeling pain emotionally and you want to get out of it?

Do you feel helpless by your realities and you have no idea how to get out of them?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need HEALING

At this point we need to go back to the source of most of our prevalent problems which is our childhood, environment and significant emotional experiences so that we can;

1) Identify the problem
2) Understand the problem
3) Fix the problem
4) Create a new approach to living life.

Now, it’s your turn to Heal from your known and unknown pain and dysfunction that is remotely controlling your life.
Remember suicide is never an option. You are lovedRosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-28154682894822764732019-06-12T04:11:00.001-07:002019-06-12T04:11:45.970-07:00Its been agesHi sugars
Its been ages I have written..... I kinda miss you guys😍😍. Hope y"all miss me too?
I have been quite busy with school and all. Will really find time to write more. Just remember Benny got your back and I'm returning with an amazing, sweet, hot topics. Watch out for those, its gonna be lit🔥🔥🔥🔥Rosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-2584903621886178512019-03-08T10:33:00.001-08:002019-03-08T10:33:16.481-08:00WHY YOU KEEP CHOOSING FUCK BOYS AND GIRLS
I saw a tweet sometime ago about one lady telling her friend that she attracts “Fuck boys” all the time but her friend told her that she’s a woman that attracts all types of men but she choses fuck boys.

Chai!!!

That response touched me deeply in my soul and is the reason why I am writing this email today.

Have you wondered why you keep choosing people that hurt you over and over again?

Could it be that you are replaying a script that you are not even aware of?

Check your patterns and see who in your family or around you have gone through or is going through what you are also going through and that may be able to explain your issues.

It doesn’t have to be your mum or dad who have had the issues you are having. It could be your guardians or the people around you like your friends that you have known for a very long time.

Things don’t just happen in isolation. It’s either you are rebelling or reacting against something from your childhood that you have no idea of.

For instance, if your mum is very docile to your aggressive dad, you could turn around having an aggressive husband and being very docile and a doormat or you could just be the aggressor having docile partners whom you have to push and push till they snap or you get to your limit.

90% of what happens to you now are born from your subsconscious which includes learnings from your childhood, environment and your significant emotional experiences..

For you to break free from this cycle, you need to intervention that can interrupt this unhealthy pattern.

You need to unlearn a lot of the things that aren’t serving you and relearn great things that can move you forward.

You acquired these things subconsciously which is why you need a subconscious intervention to delete them from the memory bank of your mind.
Its been a while just wanted you guys to exhaust the vibes of val
Here our topic today is" YOUR CHILDHOOD AND YOUR RELATIONSHIPS"
Oh wow😌😌 so excited..... Are you?

“I grew up in a highly abusive and dysfunctional household, my father was a terror, he would hit my mum so much that we would have to rush her to hospital almost everyday. I and my siblings were not spared in the beatings too and soon enough my big brother joined him.. He would hit anyone over the slightest provocation even my mum.

We lived in daily fear like prisoners..

I couldn't understand why mum didn't end the marriage and flee so I vowed never to be like her and tolerate crap from men..

Before I even started dating, I already hated men.. By 23 i was the queen of "men are scum" gang like literally, i ran an online page and everything..

But like everyone else, i still wanted to find love, i would get lots of toasters but somehow I always managed to choose the ones that are scums just like my father, and I will have to end the relationship after only a short time.. it made me even more angry at men that i even tried dating women at some point..

The angrier I was the more scums I met. It was a vicious cycle.. I got tired, i wanted to love and be loved but It just wasn't happening.
Then i started crying to God for help, that was when i stumbled on lara's post, about a healing bootcamp and I knew God had heard my prayers..

The session with lara helped me come face to face with this demon that has lurked in my shadows all these years..

She made me realise I was the one holding myself from experiencing love.. my hatred for my father was the reason I couldn't attract or maintain a healthy relationship and I have to forgive him even though he isn't sorry.. I have to let go of all that hurt and childhood trauma and move on
Tears flowed like never before...
It was a detoxifying session, I only wish I had met lara earlier in life.

I woke up the next morning feeling light, like 10bags of cement were lifted off my shoulders, I picked up my phone and for the first time in almost 10years, I dialled my Dad's number.” that's a testimony from a young lady seeking love.

Your childhood has a direct correlation with your relationships and marriage. You may be attracting terrible people who hurt you or you become the aggressor in a relationship all because you have subconsciously learned an unhealthy behaviour from childhood.
So lovelies you have to let go to be able to get the "one"
Its Valentine's day, a day we have talked so much about, planned and prepared for, it here.
So what's your plan, who is your val? I bet its someone special.😊😊😊😊😊
Hmmmmm! Today I want to talk about those who don't have that 'special someone' to share this day with.
Now ladies who doesn't have that certain ' special someone' , I want you to go out and get one. Sweety you deserve one. Go out there wearing a brilliantly, lovely dress put on a light makeup and go out there and get the guy you always wanted.
Some ladies will say "Rose I'm shy I can't get the attention of the guy I wanted". Babe, you can, I assure you that. Just throw a a glance at him and make sure he catches your eyes before pulling away and I assure you he will continue to turn and look at your directions all through his stay. Then you can give him let's say 30mins before walking up to him and say " hi! I noticed your eyes staring". Remember not ' you' staring but his 'eyes' starring. You guys can start arguing about that from there you have got his attentions and sweety you are gonna have a happy Valentine.
Now to the guys, I know you always do the talking, the chasing etc. Yes you gonna go out today and get yourself a very nice 'special girl'. Pls don't the sexiest dresser or the one that has the best smiles. Allow your heart to make this choice for you. I bet you, it will deliver a better choice. Happy val dearies....... I love you allRosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-55200166052254161182019-02-08T03:50:00.001-08:002019-02-08T03:50:34.554-08:00IT IS NOT NORMAL TO GO THROUGH THESE THINGS ...You may have been going through a cycle of pain, negative treatment and abuse in your relationship and marriage and have concluded that it is a normal event in life.

Well, let me tell you this today..

It is not normal to be neglected and abandoned emotionally.

It is not normal to be talked down on and cut in pieces by the person you truly love and claim to love you.

It is not normal to be cheated on consistently and everyone keeps saying such is the way of men or women.

It is not normal that your partner does not care about your feelings or opinions on things in your relationship.

It is not normal for your relationship to keep removing from you instead of adding to your life.

It is not normal to see your partner and all you feel is sadness and a great sense of overwhelm.

It is not normal to feel suicidal in your relationship because of the pain it is consistently bringing to you.

It is not normal for you to be in pain everyday because of your relationship or marriage.

It is not normal to be in a relationship with someone and you know that there are others like you who are competing for their attention just the way you do too.

It is not normal to be in a relationship where you are always doing the work for two because the other person has left the slack for you to keep picking up all the time.

It is not normal that your mental and emotional health is deteriorating because of your relationship.

It is not normal that the bad in your relationship outweighs the good you are getting from it.

See guys, I am not trying to paint to you that relationships or marriages should be perfect. That would be a fallacy because people are not perfect but I am trying to paint to you that there should be some level of happiness that you get in your relationship or marriage.

There should be some level of joy and fulfillment and that your relationship or marriage should bring to you.

If this is absent, then your emotional and mental health are in great jeopardy which would also affect your physical health in no time.

You can choose to fight through the storm to make things better or even stay through the abuse, pain and bitterness if that’s what you want. However, please don’t ever think what you are going through is a norm or the way of life.Rosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-40231508122954607652019-02-06T05:24:00.001-08:002019-02-06T05:24:43.741-08:00six ways women can sabotage a relationship
But be sure to stay with me until the end of this email, because I’ll be back with some really good news about the #1 way to get your ex back ...OR get over him for good (and move on to someone even better!) if you decide that's what's best for you in the end.

Here’s Stephen…

Most women intuitively understand that no guy can be manipulated,
emotionally cajoled, or Jedi mind-tricked into staying in a
relationship.

Yet at a subconscious level, men and women will engage in all kinds of
behaviors to plug up their insecure fears that one day their partner
might suddenly stop loving them, or run off with someone else, or decide
to retire to a Tibetan monastery, scrub pots, and remain celibate for
the rest of their days.

But any of these possibilities could happen at any moment.

Our partner has to not only choose to stay once, but keep choosing to remain with us every single day.

So naturally, some people get insecure at this thought and wonder, “How can I make him stay, and make sure he won’t leave?”

If this is the question you’re asking, you just might not be mature enough for an emotionally healthy relationship yet.

People who attempt to "lock" their partner in only end up sabotaging the relationship with their behavior.

They either:

(a) Force the guy away (and repeat this cycle with every next guy that comes along)

(b) Create a relationship in which their man is filled with constant resentment and bitterness over their suffocating behavior

Or finally, they may get a third option:

(c) End up with a guy as needy and insecure as they are.

The truth is, all of these possibilities can be avoided.

But to do that, you have to detect where you’re going wrong first.

Here’s a checklist of behaviors the self-sabotaging woman engages in that drives guys away:

1. She finds subtle ways to pull him away from his friends

Examples: She runs his friends down, shows jealousy any time he hangs
out with them, or suddenly gets in a pouty mood when he tells her how
much fun he had on a night out with them.

If you push him from his friends, you’ll isolate him socially on a rock where it’s just you and him.

For a while that can feel comfortable. Then quickly it becomes annoying.
Then suffocating. After enough months on "couple island" with not a
friend in sight, most guys will choose to throw themselves back in the
ocean.

2. She gives him less love when he achieves success

Examples: When he becomes successful, she tells him he’s "changing" in a
bad way, or that he’s too driven by money, or she becomes less loving
towards him, acts insecure, and worries excessively about him leaving.

Any of this controlling behavior sets up a dangerous dichotomy in his
head, where he thinks it’s a choice between his girlfriend and his
career.

It’s not always the case that he’ll choose the career, of course, but
the smart person in a relationship knows that when their partner does
well, it’s important to celebrate “our success,” not resent “his success.”

Take the ride together, and no one has to fear being left behind.

3. She tries to be placed before his family all the time

Examples: She acts personally affronted because he’s chosen to see his
parents for a weekend or gets in a mood when he chooses to spend a
holiday with his siblings.

If a guy is close with his family, and you become someone who threatens
that, the family will notice fast. And once you turn his family against
you, you’ve made some powerful enemies.

Besides, when you find your partner doesn’t put you first all the time in a relationship, that’s actually a good thing.
4. She alienates him from any other female friendships

Examples: She treats every other woman in his life, whether she’s taken
or not, as a threat who needs to be pushed into the background as soon
as possible. She interrogates him about any female who speaks to him or
acts overly suspicious.

If you make him think he has to sneak around or explain himself for
spending any time in female company, he’s going to feel controlled and
resentful.

I’m not saying all men are saints (nor all women for that matter) in the
department of loyalty, but if you feel the need to cut off a partner’s
friendships with the opposite sex, it either means he’s not a good
enough guy for you to trust him (in which case, you have a big problem
already), or you have issues trusting him to be loyal (which will only
make him bitter towards you).

Be very careful of turning any conversation about his female friends
into an interrogation. Take it from a good guy: We hate being made to
feel like bad guys.

5. She makes it his responsibility to "cure" her bad moods

Examples: She makes it his responsibility to get her out of any bad mood
and to fix every outstanding emotional, career, and family problem in
her life.

It’s nice having that bed of comfort in a relationship, but if you lose
the ability to cope with everyday life without him, he’s going to now
feel like your 24/7 emotional babysitter.

There’s no bigger killer for romantic connection than feeling like
someone is dependent on you in every way. His desire for you is
dependent on your ability to keep a sense of independence and control
over your life.

6. She sacrifices her own plans to feel further intertwined with his life

Examples: She forgoes important career opportunities, letting her own
plans fall by the wayside, attempting to only live for him and not
follow her own form of success.

Deciding to sacrifice your own plans for someone else is another form of
subtly controlling your partner. It’s a way of trying to create a false
sense of closeness and feelings of guilt in your partner by attaching
yourself to their life, instead of living your own.

You forgoing your own interests in life won’t suddenly make you a bigger
part of his. It causes you to lose all the interesting pursuits and
facets of your life that made you attractive in the first place.

* * * * * *

Many people find themselves guilty of one or two – if not more – of the above behaviors without realizing it.
its production and focus on the perils of child marriage in Northern
Nigeria.

The ‘Blacks in Cinema’ presentation held at
the Los Angeles City Council Chambers on Tuesday as part of the opening
of the highly-covered Pan African Film and Arts Festival which will
hold in Los Angeles later in February.

With the help of some legendary African-American actors and
filmmakers, the day was officially proclaimed #BlacksInCinema in Los
Angeles.

‘Dry’, released in 2015, got nine nominations in the 2015 Africa
Magic Viewers Choice Award, Bentonville Film Festival, BON awards, and
2015 ZAFAA Global awards.

Oladimeji Ramon
The Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has
described as “most irresponsible” the comments of the United States of
America, the United Kingdom and the European Union on President
Muhammadu Buhari’s suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice
Walter Onnoghen, who is facing non-declaration of assets charges.
He said the foreign countries had no right to lecture Nigerians how to run their country.

The US, UK and EU had expressed reservations about the legality of
Onnoghen’s suspension unilaterally by Buhari without the input of the
National Assembly.

They also expressed reservation about the timing of Onnoghen’s
suspension against the backdrop of an allegation by the opposition
parties that Buhari wanted to take control of the judiciary ahead of the
general elections in order to have the election results rubber-stamped
by the court in the event that he lost.
However, El-Rufai, while speaking on Tuesday Live, a late-night
programme on the NTA anchored by Cyril Stober, said the comments by the
foreign countries amounted to undue interference in the affairs of
Nigeria.
He warned the foreign countries to steer clear of the internal
affairs of Nigeria, noting that if a crisis broke out in the country
they would not partake of it.
El-Rufai said, “They (the comments) were based on non-information and
they are most irresponsible and I am happy that the Presidency
responded to them.
“As Nigerians, we must understand that these guys can sit pretty in
their country and say things but when the crisis breaks we are here. We
are the victims, our wives and children are the victims; and we must
rise up and unite and say that no to violence in this country.”
El-Rufai condemned the petitions sent to the US, the UK, the EU,
Germany and France by the opposition, calling on the foreign countries
to prevail upon Buhari not to derail the nation’s democracy.

The governor said, “Those that are calling for everyone to come and
intervene in Nigeria, we are waiting for the person that will come and
intervene. They will go back in body bags. Because nobody will come to
Nigeria and tell us how to run our country. We’ve got that independence
and we are trying to run our country as decently as possible and we know
the history of those countries that are trying to teach us these
things; we have read their history. We also know that in their stages of
development they went through these challenges.

“So, please, let’s work together; let’s advise one another but don’t lecture us.”
El-Rufai also described as baseless, the allegation of bias being
levelled against the Independent National Electoral Commission by the
opposition Peoples Democratic Party, saying the PDP was trying to
delegitimise the elections to justify its inevitable defeat at the
polls.

He added, “We have every evidence that INEC will conduct credible
elections and we challenge everyone, the opposition parties, to point
out what part of the logistical arrangements or electoral preparations
gives room for any manipulation. Otherwise, they should shut up.”Rosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-17701318726009373662019-02-06T02:04:00.001-08:002019-02-06T02:04:19.077-08:00Fire destroys 30 rooms in students’ hostel at Kano varsity

The Kano State Fire Service on Wednesday confirmed a fire outbreak
that destroyed an upper section of a female hostel at the Kano
University of Science and Technology, Wudil.

Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, the State Fire Service spokesman, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano that the incident which occurred on Tuesday night resulted from high voltage.

He said that a total of 30 rooms, 20 toilets and four kitchens were completely razed.

“We received a distress call at 09:52pm from one Alhaji Sagiru that there was a fire outbreak in the university.

“On receiving the information, we quickly sent some of our personnel
and fire fighting vehicles to the scene at 10:21pm to quench the fire,’’
he said.

Mohammed, however, said that no life was lost to the fire, noting that students were still at home because of lecturers’ strike.

Mr Peter Obi, the vice-presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic
Party has said that his party will bring back smiles to the faces of
Nigerians when it wins the February 16 presidential election.
Obi said this while addressing newsmen before embarking on a roadshow in Awka on Tuesday.
He said PDP would restore the country’s days of economic prosperity
which had suffered set back under the All Progressives Congress
administration.

He said voting back the APC meant “prolonging the suffering in the land”.“The country is collapsing under the watch of incompetent and
incapable people; come out en mass on February 16 and vote out this the
APC controlled-government.

“Nigeria has the highest number of poor people in the world today
where about 90 million are poor. That is half of the population.
“About 21 million youths are unemployed, nobody is happy with the
situation in the country today and any person that is happy with the
situation is not a normal human being.
“PDP is coming back to restore happiness and lessen the sufferings of the people,’’ he said.
Earlier, Mr Oseloka Obaze, Chairman of Atiku-Obi Presidential
Campaign Council in Anambra, said the PDP was coming with positive ideas
on how to rebuild Nigeria.
Obaze expressed confidence in the chances of PDP to win the presidential election, saying Nigerians need a new lease of life.

“PDP findings show that Nigerians are not happy with the present
government of APC and re-electing them will worsen the sufferings of the
people.

“If you vote for the present government to return, things will be worse than we have had in the last three years and half.
“They made several promises in 2015 and they have not fulfilled any,
we want to restore the economy and human dignity in the next four
years,’’ he said.

Obaze said there was nothing to show that PDP governors in South-East
were against the Atiku/Obi ticket as no one had come out openly to say
he was not supporting it.
“The PDP governors in the South-East are solidly behind Atiku-Obi ticket, so there is no need to worry,’’ he said.
A Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday fixed February 7 for the
continuation of trial of the immediate past governor of Ekiti, Mr
Ayodele Fayose, over alleged N6.9 billion fraud.

The case which was earlier fixed for today
for the continuation of cross-examination of the fifth prosecution
witness has been shifted to Thursday.

On the next adjourned date, both the prosecutor, Mr Rotimi Jacobs
(SAN), and the defence counsel, Mr Olalekan Ojo (SAN), will address the
court on the admissibility of an extrajudicial statement made by a party
who is not standing trial.

Fayose was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission in October 22, 2018 alongside a company Spotless Investment
Ltd on 11 counts.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges and the court had granted
him bail in the sum of N50 million with one surety in like sum.
EFCC had opened case for the prosecution on November 19, 2018 and called four witnesses.
On January 21, the prosecution called its fifth witness, Senator Musliu Obanikoro, a former Minister of State for Defence.
At the last adjourned date on February 5 (Tuesday), Obanikoro was
still under cross-examination by second defence counsel Ojo, who was
expected to continue on the next date.
According to the charge, on June 17, 2014, Fayose and Agbele were
said to have taken possession of the sum of N1.2 billion, for purposes
of funding his governorship election campaign in Ekiti, which sum they
reasonably ought to have known formed part of crime proceeds.
Fayose was alleged to have received a cash payment of the sum of five
million dollars, (about N1.8 billion) from Obanikoro, without going
through any financial institution and which sum exceeded the amount
allowed by law.

He was also alleged to have retained N300 million in his Zenith Bank
account and took control of the aggregate sums of about N622 million
which sum he ought to have known formed part of crime proceeds.

Fayose was alleged to have procured De Privateer Ltd and Still Earth
Ltd, to retain in their Zenith and FCMB accounts, the aggregate sums of
N851 million which they reasonably ought to have known formed part of
crime proceeds.
Besides, the accused was alleged to have used the aggregate sum of
about N1.6 billion to acquire properties in Lagos and Abuja, which sums
he reasonably ought to have known formed part of crime proceeds.

The accused was also alleged to have used the sum of N200 million, to
acquire a property in Abuja, in the name of his elder sister, Moji
Oladeji, which sum he ought to know also forms crime proceeds.

The offences contravened Sections 15(1), 15
(2), 15 (3), 16(2)(b), 16 (d), and 18 (c) of the Money Laundering
Prohibition Act 2011.

Boko Haram insurgents have attacked
Shuwa and Karchinga villages in the Madagali Local Government Area of
Adamawa State, killing three persons, burning shops and two clinics.

A village head in
Magadali LGA told one of our correspondents on Tuesday that the
insurgents came to the community at about 6pm on Monday.

“But we mistook them for soldiers because they wore military camouflage and came in army vehicles,” he said.

The Nigerian Army on Tuesday confirmed
the attacks on the communities in Madagali Local Government Area,
saying troops of the 143 Battalion engaged the insurgents.

The army said its troops were in pursuit of the fleeing insurgents.

One of our correspondents gathered that
the terrorist attacks lasted for about two hours, with the Boko Haram
fighters looting shops and stealing foodstuffs.

A community head in Karchinga, Mr Lawan
Abubakar, said the terrorists destroyed about 40 shops in his village
and killed two persons in the market square.

He said, “On Monday, I saw three
vehicles of the army and four anti-aircraft guns. We thought the
occupants of the vehicles were personnel of the Nigerian Army on patrol.
They passed through our village and our people, even our hunters, were
relaxed because we mistook them for soldiers.

“It was later we learnt they went to
Shuwa, destroyed shops for about two hours and they came back to
Karchinga, my village where they destroyed about 40 shops. All our food
items and shops were looted and burnt. They killed two persons here
(Karchinga); one at the market square and one on the street.

“The people thought they were soldiers
of the Nigerian Army. The usual way the terrorists come is to shoot
sporadically into the air and then invade the community. But on Monday
evening, they came in without suspicion and they started looting and
burning houses.”

Another witness said, “The Boko Haram
terrorists are believed to be members of the Abubakar Shekau faction of
the sect. They killed one person in Shuwa and two in Karchinga. They
attacked us at about 6.30pm and fired rocket-propelled grenades. They
forced the policemen to flee, stealing vehicles, a police van and
looting shops and houses.”

The Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, and spokesperson for the military’s Operation Lafiya Dole,
Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, confirmed that the terrorists killed three
persons but added that they only burnt a shop, a health care centre and a
market.

He said, “Troops were alerted to an
attack on Shuwa by the Boko Haram terrorists who had infiltrated the
village through Karchinga on a looting mission, to which the troops of
143 Battalion responded. They fiercely engaged the insurgents and
curtailed their incursion.

“The troops recovered one hand grenade
and six rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition. Sadly, before the troops
arrived at the scene of crime, the insurgents had killed three persons,
looted and torched a shop, a health care centre and a local market.

“It is pertinent to further inform
Nigerians that calm has been restored in Shuwa village, while Madagali,
Michika, Gulak and Baza towns remain peaceful and firmly under the
control of the troops.”

Meanwhile, the troops of the Operation Sharan Daji, claimed they neutralised nine bandits, arrested five others and rescued two persons they kidnapped.

This, the troops said, was done in
collaboration with other security agencies and local vigilantes around
Zamfara and Katsina states.

The acting Force Information Officer, Maj. Clement Abiade, in his weekly bulletin on the activities of the Operation Sharan Daji, stated
that the troops conducted clearance operations in Shinkafi, Birnin
Magaji, Sunke Forest in Zamfara State and Safana, Runka, Kunkan Sama in
Katsina State.

In another development, six suspects,
including a tanker driver accused of supplying petroleum products to
bandits at the Gando Forest, were apprehended at Kwana Mayanchi.

Items recovered from the suspects, he
said, included a round of 7.62mm special ammunition, a motorcycle and
large quantity of illicit drugs.

Others recovered items were 45 gallons of fuel, seven drums of fuel, a tanker vehicle and a water pumping machine.

Abiade added that two suspected bandits’
accomplices, Yusuf Mohammed and Abubakar Dabo, were arrested at the
Kwana Maji-Sunke Forest with large quantity of illicit drugs.

He said the suspects had been handed over to the appropriate authorities for investigation and possible prosecution.

Abiade reiterated the Force Commander and the men of Operation Sharan Daji’s determination to flush out bandits from Zamfara State.

In a related development, the troops of the Operation Whirl Stroke in Benue State on Monday engaged suspected armed herdsmen at Tomatar village in Guma Local Government Area of the state.

The Force Commander, OPWS, Maj. Gen.
Adeyemi Yekini, said the bandits tried to invade the community but were
repelled by the troops.

Yekini, in a telephone chat with one of
correspondents, said, “Yes, the bandits tried to invade Tomatar general
area in Guma but the troops engaged them in a gun battle and inflicted
heavy injuries on them.”

The first national spokesperson for the
Coalition of United Political Parties, Imo Ugochinyere, in a statement
said the CUPP had uncovered plan by the EFCC to arrest the suspended
Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen on Wednesday (Today).

“The secretariat of the CUPP has
uncovered the latest plot by the Presidency to arrest the Chief Justice
of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen tomorrow (Wednesday) being February
6, 2019 and immediately commence their final descent to infamy by
forcing him to resign at gunpoint.

“The latest recruit in this plot against
the CJN being the Chairman of the EFCC has been given the mandate to
execute this plot and has been told there would be no margin for error
as the CJN must resign from office or from life one way or the other,”
Ugochinyere claimed.

But the acting spokesman for EFCC, Tony Orilade, said he was not aware of plans to arrest Onnoghen.

“I don’t have any information on any plan to arrest him. I am not aware of anything like that,” he said.

In a related development, the CUPP on
Tuesday alleged that it had uncovered a plan by the Federal Government
to force Onnoghen to resign “at gunpoint.”

It said the decision was taken after Onnoghen turned down “all mouth-watering offers” made to him.

Ugochinyere disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

Ugochinyere alleged that the government was making efforts to force some senior lawyers to withdraw from defending the CJN.

Ademola Babalola, Ibadan

The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Tuesday conducted a referendum to decide whether to suspend its three-month strike or not.

The national leaders of the union on Monday directed its zonal coordinators to meet and conduct the referendum.

Over 200 members of the University of Ibadan chapter, who attended the congress allegedly voted for the continuation of the strike while a little above 50 voted for the suspension of the strike.

The Chairman of the University of Ibadan Chapter, Dr Deji Omole, told our correspondent on the telephone that the congress only conducted a referendum on what the Federal government had offered the union to call off the strike.

Omole stated that the FG promised to include the earned academic allowances in their 2019 salaries.

He also said the FG had decided to release N25bn for university revitalisation while the rest will be released after identifying sources to fund it.

Omole, who said the FG agreed to release additional N5bn to make the earned academic allowances N25bn out of the N105bn being owed lecturers, added that ASUU wanted N30bn.

According to him, the FG has agreed to renegotiate with the union.

Sources at the zonal congress claimed the majority of the members voted for the continuation of the strike because they doubted government’s sincerity in fulfilling its new promises.
Tobi Aworinde, Abuja

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday, said he hated mentioning the name of the ruling party from which the Buhari administration took over because doing so gives him a headache.

He accused the Peoples Democratic Party of neglecting Nigerians’ social welfare during its 16 years of governance at the federal level.

Osinbajo, who spoke at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign in Ondo State, stated that many of the initiatives of the current government should have been conceived and implemented by the previous administrations.

The Vice President said, “Don’t let us deceive ourselves. What has held our country back for so long is corruption. That is why we say we cannot go back; all of these things we are doing are things that should have been done long ago.

“We should have completed the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway by now. But we just started doing it. The ones that were doing it before, I won’t mention their names. We don’t even want to mention their names because it gives us a headache.

“They said they were doing Lagos-Ibadan but it was all a lie. Budget after budget, they didn’t do it. That is what we are doing now. It is the government of Muhammadu Buhari that is doing it now and we will finish it. If you drive on that road, you will see the work we have done.”

Osinbajo, who is seeking re-election with Buhari, stated that the administration was feeding 9.2 million children in 26 states every day with its home-grown school feeding programme, adding that the target was 13 million children in the 36 states.

According to him, the number of eggs consumed weekly is 6.8 million, creating more jobs for poultry farmers.

He further noted that the government had partnered with Brazil to acquire equipment, including tractors and rice processors, to encourage the youths to do more farming.

Osinbajo said, “Everyone who wants to farm or work in food processing will have jobs. It is the issue of jobs that we are most passionate about; we want everyone to find jobs. The punch news.comRosebennyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17084493514837034085noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-491001189603510914.post-78797807781486063192019-02-05T05:44:00.000-08:002019-02-05T05:44:54.651-08:00NDLEA raids hard drug black spots, arrests 39 in Abia

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has raided 30 hard drug
black spots in Abia and arrested 39 persons in the last three months.
Mr. Bamidele Akingbade, the commander of the agency in state disclosed this to newsmen in Aba on Tuesday.
He said that the raid and arrest of the suspects took place between
December 2018 and February 2019, adding that those involved included 34
males and 5 females.

He listed towns raided to include Umuahia, Aba, Ohafia, Arochukwu and Isiukwuato areas of the state.

He said drugs ranging from cannabis, skonk cannabis, cocaine, heroin and other psychotropic substances were found on them.
Other things found on the suspects, according to him are stimulants
and depressants like tramadol, rophenol, diazepam, benelyn and codeine.
He said the agency also recovered eight locally-made single and double barrel guns and one pistol from one the suspects.
He said the command initiated the raids across the state with the
intention to keep the state safe prior to the upcoming general
elections.
“The action of the command is hinged on the premise that the line between violence and drug is thin.
“We have observed in the past, most of the past violent behaviours
that characterised past elections have not been unconnected with the use
of drugs.

“We could safely say that it is not impossible that some politicians
may be planning again to induce our youths into violence in order to
make them susceptible to violent behaviours.

“They may want to foment troubles during campaigns and elections by making hard drugs freely available to them,” he said.
He said those caught with the banned substances had been arraigned in
courts while one case involving firearm recovery had been transferred
to the police for further investigation.

He said other cases involving drug abuse had also been properly
documented and suspects counselled and released to their parents and
caretakers.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that there was an insurgent attack in Kirchinga and Shuwa villages of Madagali LGA.
Mr. Kasim Gaidam, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner told NAN that the commission was committed to conducting elections in designated areas in Madagali.
